Things to do around Aberfeldy

For Best Rates, Book Direct

Aberfeldy Caravan and Camping park is the ideal base for an active (or relaxed) touring holiday in Highland Perthshire. There are many stunning walking and cycling routes right on your doorstep as well as golf, fishing, historic attractions and outdoor activities including water-sports and even bungee jumping. Evenings can be spent relaxing onsite or in a local pub or restaurant just a short walk away. You can also join in the live Scottish Entertainment at Moness Resort every weekend in the newly refurbished Uisge Bar & Restaurant  We’ve included some of our top things to do below – although this is really just the taste of what’s on offer.

Activities

Aberfeldy Caravan and Camping Park sits on the bank of the River Tay with some outstanding local walks including the famous Birks of Aberfeldy  As well as gentle walking trails there are some stunning hill circuits to blow away the cobwebs. You can see a full list of walking routes here.

We highly recommend a visit to Highland Safaris  Once crowned as the best visitor experience in Scotland – Highland Safaris offer exhilarating off road experiences as well as family friendly activities. Kids rave about the hugely popular Red Deer and Barn Owl Encounter.

If you want to try your hand at some white-water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, river bugging or paddle boarding – we work with trusted partners on Loch Tay and river Tay and can point you in the right direction.

Family night out? Check out the latest flicks at the local cinema– they even have live Scottish music every Thursday.

Attractions

Highland Perthshire is brimming with historic attractions and unique local experiences for all interests and ages. Nearby is Castle Menzies and the Scottish Crannog Centre. Take a trip into the past at Blair Castle or Atholl Castle. Or why not visit one Highland Chocolatier.

Spot red squirrels and woodpeckers or get close to breeding ospreys when visiting the Loch of the Lowes wildlife reserve and visitor centre.

Nearby you can pop into the local Watermill Bookshop & Gallery- a former oatmeal mill just off the main street in Aberfeldy. We also have our own local distillery (one of the smallest in Scotland) just along the road.
